who are low vision or blind!
***As there is limited funding for each event, we must have at least 5 visually impaired students attend to host an activity.

February 11, 2012 – Be a Nerd Technology Day! 10am to 2pm: This is open to all ages. We are asking you to bring your technology you use to show other your skills. This can be any technology you use! Laptops, notetakers, gaming systems, Ereaders, Apple technology… any technology you want to show off! We will meet at JAB and order out for pizza! We are asking you to dress like a Nerd, too! Come join the fun!
Deadline: 02-10-12
March 30, 2012 – Disability Awarness Day at College Heights Church. 9am to 4pm. This is a community service project to help families know what support are available to assist them. Just come and tour the booths!
April 14, 2012 – Beeper Egg Hunt and Kids Carnival! This is an annual event for all ages to attend. More news to come as the event gets closer
April 26, 2012 – Beeper Ball Game! 6 pm to 7:30 pm. This will be a fund raiser for the kid's to help support the activities @ JAB. The game will be at the Carl Junction softball field. We need your support! More information to come!
May 5, 2012 GPS Day @ JAB! 9 am to 3 pm. This is an all day event to be able to use a variety of GPS systems for visually impaired. We will travel throughout Joplin using the GPS systems to locate a variety of locations.

George Washington Carver National Park Day: We will spend the day at the park doing a variety of activities indoors and outdoors. We have modified the park activities for visually impaired students! More information will be provided as the activity gets closer!
June 2012 – Day of Caring Beeper Ball Game! This is a family activity where we will play Beeper Softball and have a picnic at Schifferdecker Park in Joplin, MO. The event will get under way at 11 am. Hope you are able to attend as we will blindfold community volunteers who will play, too.
***June 2012 – Annual Harley Davidson Motorcycle Ride! This is a fun event that the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Owners club sponsors each year. We make this event as safe as possible to allow this ride to be a fun experience for the kids. We will meet at Cycle Connection at 51 st and Main in Joplin.
June 2012 – Gentry Wildlife Adventure
Volunteers are needed for ALL the activities!!!
As events get closer, more information will be provided.
