About Joplin Association for the Blind
Our mission
is to help meet the changing needs of individuals with low
vision or blindness, by addressing their
needs from a physical, medical, social, and emotional
approach.
The primary service area for the Joplin Association for the Blind
and Regional Low Vision Resource Center is a 100 mile radius of Joplin,
Missouri. We serve the four state areas of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri
and Oklahoma. The majority of our clients are from Jasper and Newton
counties, but we have had a 50% increase in client referrals from
the adjoining counties and states in the past year. Recently, we
expanded our facility to provide added low vision services
for our patients and added room for our children and youth activities
